Hadatha Cybersecurity Hackathon Begins

Muscat: The Hadatha Cybersecurity Hackathon commenced on Tuesday, organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, with the Oman National CERT collaborating with the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Muscat.

Out of 165 applicants, 49 innovators are participating in the hackathon, forming 14 teams that will compete to develop advanced technological solutions addressing cyber challenges.

Eng. Badr Ali Al Salhi, Director General of Oman National CERT, emphasized that the Hadatha Cybersecurity Hackathon is designed to strengthen Oman’s status as a key center for cybersecurity and technological innovation.

This event nurtures young talent and fosters a competitive atmosphere aimed at generating practical solutions to escalating cyber threats. The hackathon will focus on four primary areas: artificial intelligence in cybersecurity, securing advanced technologies such as IoT and blockchain, combating cyber-attacks, and promoting cybersecurity awareness.
