GCC-Azerbaijan Economic Forum Explores Areas Of Cooperation

Baku: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), participated in today's inaugural edition of the GCC-Azerbaijan Economic Forum, which took place in Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The forum, themed "Sustainability, Investments, Partnerships," was orchestrated by the Federation of GCC Chambers in collaboration with the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of Azerbaijan.

Moreover, the forum sought to delve into the potential avenues for economic and investment collaboration between GCC nations and Azerbaijan.

In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formalized between the Federation of GCC Chambers and the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of Azerbaijan, focusing on the collaboration in the execution of investment projects across various sectors.

The MoU also aimed to broaden the collaboration between the two parties in the following areas: export and investment promotion, information exchange, preparation of bilateral cooperation programs, execution of trade promotion activities, coordination of research and analytical efforts, and mutual assistance in the realization of investment projects.

The GCC-Azerbaijan Economic Forum featured numerous discussion panels that addressed a diverse range of topics, including cooperation in renewable and clean energy, water and electricity sectors, as well as challenges and opportunities within the transport and logistics services sector. Additionally, one panel explored strategic partnerships between GCC countries and Azerbaijan in the agriculture, food security, and food industries sectors.

On the sidelines of the forum, several business-to-business meetings were conducted between GCC business representatives and their Azerbaijani counterparts.
