Muscat: On Thursday evening, the former Board of Directors of the Pakistan Social Club hosted a prestigious welcome event at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Qurum to honor Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, the newly appointed Ambassador of Pakistan to the Sultanate of Oman.
The gathering attracted a significant number of esteemed community members, embassy officials, and distinguished dignitaries from Oman.
The purpose of the event was to strengthen the bonds between Pakistan and Oman while fostering community engagement.
Numerous community members were in attendance, including Iqbal Jaffar, Mian Riaz, Dr. Barni, A.H. Raja, Akthar Saleem, Sajjad, Asif, Tajamal Jami, Shandar Bokhari, Shakeel Maroof, Afzaal Ahmed, Faryad, and Ch. Ashraf, among others.
All officials from the Pakistani Embassy were present to show their support for the new ambassador.
Notable Omani guests included Najeeb Saleh Mohammad Al Zadjali, Member of the Majlis Al Shura; Mohammad Ramdhan Al Balushi, Member of the Majlis Al Shura; Al Sheikh Salim Hamdoon Saeed Al Jabri, Sheikh of Amerat; and Rudaina bint Amur Al Hajri, Director of the Saeedia School Museum.
Their attendance highlighted the enduring friendship between Oman and Pakistan.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthems of Pakistan and Oman. The hosts for the evening were Abid Mughal, Mrs. Azra Aleem, and Mabool Sheikh.
Kaleem Akhtar delivered a special presentation that highlighted the vision, purpose, and previous initiatives of the Pakistan Social Club. The evening's highlight was an address by Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, who expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Pakistani community for their warm welcome.
He commended the rich culture and hospitality of Oman and assured the community of his unwavering support in addressing their needs and concerns. He stressed that the doors of the Pakistani Embassy would always be open to community members and committed to facilitating initiatives that enhance the welfare of Pakistanis in Oman.
The event concluded with a ceremonial cake-cutting, the presentation of shields to esteemed guests, and a lavish dinner, providing attendees with the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations and celebrate the robust relationship between Pakistan and Oman.
