Foreign Minister Voices Concern For Lebanon Amid Israeli Strikes

Muscat: His Excellency Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi, the esteemed Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, has utilized the social media platform X to express his concerns and support for the Republic of Lebanon and its citizens.

In his official statement on X, the Minister articulated, "It is incumbent upon certain governments to not merely condemn the actions of Iran but to address the root causes of the current crisis. This necessitates acknowledging the undeniable truth that the only viable path to peace in the region is through the cessation of Israel's illegal occupation of Palestine. Those who advocate for alternative strategies, such as containment of Iran, elimination of Hamas, defeat of Hezbollah, or unwavering political, military, and financial support for Israel, are either misguided, naive, or intentionally sidestepping the truth."

"The reality of this situation is difficult to confront. For an extended period, numerous Western governments have delayed facing this truth and have failed to ensure the Palestinian people the security and stability that only statehood can offer. The rights and lives of the Palestinian people under occupation have been progressively diminished by the expansion of illegal settlements and the imposition of an apartheid regime."

"It is imperative that supporters of Israel shift their stance from merely advocating for international law to actively enforcing its application in Palestine's case. Israel must be compelled to halt its military operations in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. This action should be preceded by a unified international effort to terminate Israel's illegal occupation of Palestine. A sovereign Palestinian state, fully recognized and supported by the international community, must be established, not just by the letter of the law but by the entirety of its institutional and organizational support."

His Excellency the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman concluded his statement with a call for a comprehensive and collective international response to these critical issues.
