Foreign Minister Meets Officials On Sidelines Of UNGA 79

New York: During the course of his participation in the deliberations of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 79), which took place in New York today, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister of the State of Qatar, engaged in a significant meeting with Dr. Rashad Al Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council in the Republic of Yemen. This encounter occurred amidst the backdrop of Sayyid Badr's involvement in the discussions at the UNGA.

The primary focus of the dialogue was on the historical and cordial relations between the two nations. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to supporting all endeavors aimed at ensuring security and stability within Yemen. Furthermore, they expressed their optimism that these efforts would contribute to the attainment of a consensual political resolution to the ongoing crisis in Yemen, one that preserves the country's independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.

Additionally, Sayyid Badr had the opportunity to meet with Ahmed Attaf, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. The ministers engaged in discussions regarding the bilateral relations between their countries. They emphasized the importance of following through on the outcomes of the Omani-Algerian Joint Committee and continued collaboration in various critical sectors that offer mutual benefits.

The ministers also deliberated on a variety of regional and international issues of mutual concern. They highlighted the necessity of maintaining coordination and consultation within international forums to advocate for Arab and Islamic interests. They committed to supporting the United Nations' efforts in advancing international peace and security.

Furthermore, Sayyid Badr engaged in discussions with Espen Barth Eide, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway. The dialogue focused on strategies to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in renewable energy, environmental protection, sustainable development, and food, medicine, and water security. They stressed the importance of sustaining close coordination in these areas as the bilateral relations between Oman and Norway continue to grow.

The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement on the importance of supporting multilateral international dialogue and cooperation to seek peaceful resolutions to regional and global conflicts. They affirmed their commitment to the principles and values outlined in the United Nations Charter, aimed at achieving justice, peace, and prosperity for all.

During the course of the meeting, the two ministers underscored their shared enthusiasm for pursuing the outcomes of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said's historic visit to the Republic of Singapore in December. They also committed to the continuation of strategic dialogue and cooperation across various sectors, including the digital economy, innovation, energy, education, and advanced technology.

Furthermore, the two ministers emphasized the significance of fostering the principles of dialogue, justice, and respect to mediate differences and disputes peacefully, underscoring the critical role of diplomacy in fostering understanding and bridging perspectives.

Additionally, Sayyid Badr engaged in discussions with Battsetseg Batmunkh, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Mongolia. During their meeting, the two ministers deliberated on a broad spectrum of opportunities for bilateral cooperation aimed at enhancing the friendship and trade relations between the two nations, as well as promoting investment opportunities, trade, and tourism exchanges.

On an international stage, within the context of the current session of the United Nations General Assembly, the two ministers engaged in exchanges of views and consultations on a variety of topics and issues of mutual interest.
