First Ain Short Film Festival Activities Kicks Off In Oman

Muscat: The inaugural Ain Short Film Festival, organized by the Ministry of Information, commenced on Wednesday for a five-day run under the patronage of Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat.

According to Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information, the primary objective of hosting the festival's first edition is to accomplish various goals within the film industry. These goals include showcasing the participants' skills in different aspects of the film industry, enriching the Ain Platform with short films, and contributing to the introduction of meaningful media content. Additionally, the festival aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise among participants through workshops, specialized seminars, and other accompanying activities.

Dr. Al Harrasi further mentioned that the winning films in the festival will have the opportunity to be screened on the Ain Platform.

It is important to note that the Ministry of Information has previously recognized and honored individuals who have made significant contributions to the film industry, both within and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
