Egyptian Embassy Marks 6th Of October Anniversary

Muscat: The Defense Attache of Egypt serving in the Sultanate of Oman commemorated the 6th of October, the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations, with a reception held at the Grand Millennium–Muscat Hotel. This event was graced by the presence of Brigadier Yasser bin Khalifa Said Al Talabi, the esteemed guest of honor, alongside Ambassador Khalid Radhi, the envoy of the Sultanate to Egypt.

The ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including Mohammed Abdulmoneim, the political advisor for the Egyptian Embassy in Muscat, alongside his deputy, Ahmed Shuaib, and Mana Dhiya, the consul at the embassy. The event also saw the participation of several high-ranking officials, senior officers from the Sultanate’s Armed Forces (SAF), diplomats and military attaches accredited to the Sultanate, members of the Egyptian Embassy in Muscat, and the Egyptian Community in Oman.

In his address, Captain Harb Mohmmed Jumah Ghali, the Egyptian Defense Attache, emphasized the significance of the 6th of October anniversary, stating that it will be etched in the hearts and minds of both Egyptians and Arab nationals, serving as a source of pride. He highlighted the necessity of maintaining peace, which necessitates the use of power for protection, a principle underscored by the Egyptian Army’s efforts in modernizing its units and corps, in addition to the training of its personnel to address potential challenges.

Captain Ghali further articulated Egypt’s commitment to employing its power for the pursuit of justice and solidarity with friendly nations, irrespective of the obstacles and difficulties that may arise. He acknowledged the deep-rooted and longstanding relations between Egypt and Oman, dating back over 3,500 years, and the significant developments observed across various sectors. He concluded by praising the strong bilateral ties between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman, under the capable leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
