Muscat: The Khareef season within the Dhofar Governorate presents a significant opportunity to augment commercial and economic activities, thereby fortifying and supporting the local economy. This period is characterized by a surge in investment opportunities and the promotion of Omani products, facilitated by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry's branch in Dhofar Governorate.

Under the leadership of Naif bin Hamed Fadhel, a member of the Board of Directors for the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Head of the Chamber's branch in Dhofar Governorate, the branch orchestrates a multitude of events, conferences, and exhibitions. These initiatives are designed to enhance the business environment within the governorate.

Fadhel highlighted that during the Khareef season, the branch organizes numerous promotional exhibitions showcasing both Omani and international products. This not only attracts a significant number of delegations from friendly and sisterly countries but also serves as a platform for promoting investment opportunities, particularly in the tourism and real estate sectors.

He further emphasized the branch's commitment to improving the business environment and supporting small and medium enterprises, as well as the owners of productive family projects. These entities are afforded the opportunity to participate in various events and activities at no cost.

Fadhel underscored the Chamber's efforts to attract and localize foreign investments through various channels. These include organizing mutual visits between business owners in Oman and other countries, providing comprehensive data and direct communication with investors, and facilitating visits for trade delegations aimed at fostering partnerships between the private sectors of Oman and its international counterparts.

The branch also plays a pivotal role in providing services, facilities, information, and data related to investment opportunities to its extensive network of 70,000 affiliates.

He highlighted the branch's role in facilitating trade delegations with the objective of enlightening businessmen and owners of small and medium enterprises about the experiences of their counterparts across different economic sectors. This exchange of knowledge is instrumental in the development and growth of businesses, as well as the introduction of pioneering expertise and experiences within the governorate.

Fadhel noted that during the recent period, several trade delegations from China and Indonesia have been directed to the branch. This underscores the Chamber's commitment to fostering effective communication and strengthening trade relations between investors and their counterparts within the governorate, which has been instrumental in elevating the investment rates in Dhofar Governorate.

He elucidated that the branch persistently organizes workshops aimed at educating members and familiarizing them with the fundamental principles of trade, identifying opportunities, developing projects, and introducing them to the latest laws and legislation pertinent to the business sector, thereby broadening the avenues for self-employment.

The head of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch in Dhofar Governorate has affirmed that its objective is to eliminate the barriers encountered by diverse economic sectors.

They meticulously monitor and submit suitable recommendations for each sector, engage in thorough analysis, follow up on proposed solutions with various governmental agencies, and offer consultations designed to enhance the sustainability of commercial projects for business proprietors, irrespective of gender.
