Dedicated Zone For Street Food Opens In Amerat

Muscat Municipality has announced the inauguration of a specialized site designated for Street Food (Masar) in Al Amerat, in collaboration with Riyada. This initiative is part of a broader effort to support small business proprietors and to organize the operations of street vendors.

The site is equipped with an integrated environment that encompasses all essential services, housed within 20 state-of-the-art food carts, meticulously designed to adhere to the highest technical and health standards.

This project promises to serve as a unique destination for patrons seeking distinctive dining experiences, all while ensuring a comfortable and secure environment that complies with the necessary health and technical regulations.

In a previous announcement, the Muscat Municipality extended invitations to street vendors to apply for the opportunity to operate within a designated zone in Wadi Kabir, located in the Muttrah wilayat.

The Municipality has indicated that preference will be given to applicants residing in Muttrah.

Applicants are required to possess a license for their activity, be of Omani nationality, and be at least 18 years of age. The license holder is permitted to conduct their activity as outlined in the license.

Furthermore, applicants must not hold any other licenses for commercial, professional, or craft activities. The site has been meticulously prepared to accommodate approximately 12 street vendors, featuring amenities such as electricity and water connections, as well as designated parking spaces for customer vehicles.
