Muscat: The Oman Commercial Arbitration Centre (OCAC) has today convened a specialized session to explore the application of the latest technologies, aimed at ensuring Oman's alignment with global advancements in the arbitration sector. The event, titled "Sports Arbitration and Integrity Guarantees," was a pivotal gathering.
During the session, Issa Ali Al Ghassani, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors at Oman Commercial Arbitration Centre, articulated the Centre's strategic plans for the forthcoming phase, which includes modernization, specialization, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies across various arbitration domains.
He further emphasized that the symposium serves as the inaugural platform for launching initiatives and events designed to enhance all facets of specialized arbitration.
An esteemed international sports lawyer, Dave Kumar Parmar, renowned for his expertise in sports arbitration, provided a historical overview of sports and highlighted the variety of sports games that necessitate the involvement of neutral entities to mediate disputes and disagreements within the sports community.
Parmar also offered a detailed explanation of the concept of sports arbitration, elucidating its crucial role in the resolution of sports-related disputes and disagreements.
