Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has apprehended an individual for engaging in electronic fraud activities.
In a press release, the ROP disclosed: "The General Directorate of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations has taken action against a citizen of the Arab region for perpetrating fraud through the utilization of an imposter website of a recognized institution. The objective of this fraudulent scheme was to acquire the banking and personal information of the victims, with the subsequent withdrawal of funds from their accounts."
The Royal Oman Police is issuing a cautionary advisory against responding to calls from anonymous sources and advising against any interaction with websites that have not been confirmed to be trustworthy.
