Muscat: Demonstrating its steadfast dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and community engagement, Bank Muscat, the premier financial services provider in Oman, has enhanced the impact of the “Fak Kurba” initiative. This initiative, organized by the Omani Lawyers Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development and the Supreme Judicial Council, seeks to gather financial contributions to assist individuals imprisoned due to unpaid financial obligations. The Bank has played an active role in this initiative, aiding 346 cases involving civil, commercial, religious, and labor disputes. To date, the Bank has helped resolve a total of 1,903 cases, excluding those related to banking or financial institutions.
The “Fak Kurba” initiative is a significant volunteer-led effort that emphasizes the importance of social solidarity and community ties, supported by the Omani Lawyers Association. Since its inception in 2012, it has successfully addressed numerous cases throughout the Sultanate and operates as a sustainable year-round project.
On this occasion, Hamad Hamdan Al Rubaie, Chairman of the Oman Lawyers Association, remarked: “The success of this year’s Fak Kurba initiative highlights the ongoing positive and significant impact of this humanitarian project since it began. Over the years, the initiative has aided more than 7,300 individuals. We take pride in the increasing support it garners each year from both individuals and organizations, showcasing the Omani community's commitment to fostering cooperation and compassion. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all contributors for their collaboration with the Association in launching this initiative, with special appreciation to Bank Muscat for its continuous and invaluable support, which has been instrumental in the initiative's success and growth.”
