Muscat: The Bangladesh Social Club Oman (BSC Oman) has inaugurated a new Engineers Wing, which unites Bangladeshi engineering professionals in the Sultanate under one roof.
This wing, which received approval from the Ministry of Social Development earlier this year, officially commenced operations last week with the announcement of a 20-member executive committee.
The committee is chaired by Convenor Engr. Saiful Islam Mozumder, with Engr. Abul Kalam Sazzad serving as General Secretary, Engr. Nickson Barua as Joint Convenor, and Eng Riajul Islam Chowdury.
During the inauguration, the convenor stated that the Engineers Wing's goal is to bring together Bangladeshi engineers in Oman and enhance their contributions in both government and private sectors.
"We are dedicated to working for societal improvement, adhering to the laws of the land, and creating value for both Oman and our homeland, Bangladesh," Eng. Saiful remarked.
Joint Convenor Nickson Barua emphasized that this initiative will also foster professional collaboration and knowledge-sharing among community members.
The establishment of the Engineers Wing comes after months of efforts by the BSC Oman central committee, led by Chairman Sirajul Hoque, Chief Patron Ifthekar ul Hasan Chowdhury, and General Secretary M. N. Amin. Committee members noted that the formation of this new wing signifies the increasing contributions of Bangladeshi professionals to Oman’s development. Currently, BSC Oman manages seven active wings, with two additional wings pending ministry approval. Officials indicated that the Engineers Wing is anticipated to significantly enhance the club’s professional and community service initiatives.
Members of the new committee expressed their appreciation to the Omani authorities for their support and committed to operating in accordance with the Sultanate’s laws while continuing to foster a positive image of Bangladesh internationally.
