Around 100,000 Citizens Register For Jobs In Oman

Muscat: The Minister of Labour, His Excellency Dr. Mahad bin Said Baawin, revealed during the ongoing "Together We Progress" Forum that the Sultanate of Oman has recorded approximately 100,000 job seekers, accounting for 3.3 percent of the population. These latest statistics shed light on the employment situation in the country.

The second day of the forum witnessed three engaging dialogue sessions covering various topics such as work, employment, economy, investment, culture, sports, youth, media, and national identity. This platform aims to foster discussions and find innovative solutions to address the challenges faced in these areas.

Dr. Mahad bin Said Baawin emphasized the significance of these statistics during his participation in the forum. He highlighted that out of the 100,000 job seekers, 80,000 individuals have never been employed before, while 20,000 have previous work experience. It is noteworthy that 48 percent of these job seekers are males, while 52 percent are females.
