The 27th Arab-German Economic Forum commenced in Berlin on Tuesday, focusing on strengthening collaboration between the private sectors of Arab nations and Germany, particularly in energy, technology, innovation, trade, investment, tourism, culture, education, and training.
Organized by the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the forum has the Sultanate of Oman as the "Guest of Honour" delegation, led by Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy. The Omani delegation includes representatives from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), with Eng. Hamoud Salim Al Saadi, Second Deputy of OCCI’s Board of Directors, leading the team.
Al Saadi highlighted the forum's objective of enhancing economic ties and sharing knowledge between Arab and German entities to establish new avenues for bilateral cooperation. The Omani delegation at the forum covers sectors like smart cities, logistics, artificial intelligence, investment in special economic zones and free zones, tourism, and supply chains.
Ambassador Maitha Saif Al Mahrouqi emphasized the significance of OCCI's involvement in trade and investment forums, with the Omani Embassy in Germany ready to facilitate joint commercial projects in collaboration with relevant public and private sector organizations.
During the forum, Oman's delegation participated in a panel discussion on "Investment Opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman," presenting investment prospects and business areas across various sectors in the country.
