Berlin: The Sultanate of Oman has commenced its participation in the International Tourism Exchange Berlin 2025, which began on Tuesday in the German capital and will run for three days.
The Omani delegation comprises representatives from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, along with 54 institutions specializing in travel, tourism, and hospitality, as well as four strategic partners.
Oman's involvement in ITB Berlin is aimed at promoting the country as a leading tourist destination, showcasing its unique and appealing tourism experiences that cater to diverse interests. Additionally, the delegation intends to finalize several agreements aimed at enhancing the tourism sector and aligning it with global trends.
The participation also focuses on gaining insights into innovative global practices and discussing strategies that can drive significant tourism growth and attract non-traditional markets.
This exhibition, recognized as one of the largest in the industry, provides an opportunity for Oman to develop innovative marketing strategies and promotional frameworks to expand its presence in the European and international markets, particularly in Germany.
According to statistics from the National Centre for Statistics and Information, Germany ranks highest among European countries for visitors to Oman, with over 135,000 arrivals recorded by the end of last year. This places Germany fourth overall in tourist numbers to Oman, following the UAE, India, and Yemen, while December alone saw approximately 103,800 visitors from European nations.
