28 Expats Arrested For Violating Labour Law In Oman

Muscat: In Muscat Governorate, the Ministry of Labour (Mol) has apprehended 28 foreign workers for breaching the Labour Law.

The Ministry issued a statement stating that they have conducted an inspection campaign in the Muscat Governorate to monitor the expat workforce and their adherence to the Labour Law. The main objective of this campaign is to combat the practice of "collecting iron and scrap" by expat workers. As a result of the campaign, 28 workers were arrested for violating the provisions of the Labor Law. The Ministry, specifically the General Directorate of Labour Welfare, is committed to ensuring the enforcement of labor regulations and maintaining a compliant expat workforce.

The statement further mentioned that appropriate legal actions are being pursued against those who have violated the regulations.
