New Delhi: According to the Ministry of External Affairs, two Indian nationals, Muhammed Rinash Arangilottu and Muraleedharan Perumthatta Valappil, have been convicted of murder and sentenced to death in the UAE.
The Court of Cassation, the highest judicial authority in the UAE, has confirmed these sentences, as stated by the XP Division.
The Embassy has extended all possible consular and legal support, including submitting mercy petitions and requests for clemency to the UAE government on behalf of the Indian nationals, the statement noted.
On February 28, the UAE authorities informed the Embassy that the death sentences had been executed. The families of the individuals involved have been notified, and the Embassy is coordinating with them to facilitate their participation in the final rites, as indicated by the XP Division.
