Salalah: HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, conducted a meeting in his office in the Wilayat of Salalah yesterday with Mohammed Ali Yasser, Governor of Al Mahra in the Republic of Yemen, who is currently on a visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
HH Sayyid Marwan greeted the Governor of Al Mahra and praised the longstanding historical connections and social ties between the people of Oman and Yemen.
HH Sayyid Marwan emphasized the significance of the meeting in strengthening areas of mutual cooperation between the two parties.
He mentioned that both sides highlighted the importance of fulfilling their citizens' desires for security, stability, and the exchange of benefits, including the electrical interconnection project and other development initiatives.
On his part, the Governor of Al Mahra conveyed the gratitude of the Yemeni government and people for the assistance provided to Yemen by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman through Oman Charitable Organisation (OCO).
He stated that this aid encompassed developmental and humanitarian aspects, benefiting the Yemeni population in general and the Al Mahra Governorate in particular, portraying a gesture of brotherhood and good neighboring relations.
The Governor of Al Mahra emphasized Yemen's anticipation for increased collaboration and assistance, especially given the extraordinary conditions currently affecting the country.
The gathering was joined by Mohsin Ali Mohammed Balhaf, the General Manager of Al Mahra Oil Company's Yemen branch, along with representatives from both parties.
