Winners Of Quran Memorisation Contest In Al Dakhiliyah Honoured

Nizwa: On Wednesday, the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah's Directorate General of Education honored 180 exceptional male and female pupils who competed in Quran memorization and reading events at the governorate's school level.

Sheikh Ahmed Saud Al Siyabi, Secretary-General of the Fatwa Office, presided over the event at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences.

The event included performances of winning recitations, as well as the premiere of an opera called "The Quran: A Way of Life" and a poetry piece titled "The Quran: A Shining Light. "

Over 650 students from public and private schools competed in the competition, which celebrated its 49th year this year. Among them, 127 progressed to the final rounds of the governorate-level memorization competition, with ten qualifying for the ministry-level finals.

In addition, 57 students participated in the final rounds of the recitation contest, with six qualifying for the following level. More than 20 students with disabilities took part, with 16 progressing to the ministry-level finals.
