US Intel Points To Possible Israeli Strike On Iran Nuclear Sites Amid Diplomatic Push

Washington: According to CNN, the United States has gained new information indicating that Israel is actively preparing for a possible military action against Iranian nuclear installations, despite President Donald Trump's administration's ongoing diplomatic efforts with Tehran.

CNN, quoting sources familiar with the intelligence, has reported that Israel does not appear to have made a definitive decision, but that the probability of a strike has grown significantly in recent months.

They emphasized that Israel's progress will mostly depend on the result of current US-Iran talks over Tehran's nuclear objectives.

According to a CNN source, the likelihood of an Israeli attack on an Iranian nuclear installation has grown considerably, notably if Washington's accord fails to limit Iran's uranium enrichment completely.

According to CNN, the US assessment is based on intercepted Israeli communication as well as observable military actions, such as the relocation of aerial weapons and the conclusion of a large Israeli air exercise.

However, officials cautioned that these measures might be part of a larger Israeli attempt to exert diplomatic pressure on Iran, rather than an indication of imminent military intervention.

According to CNN, any such attack would represent a significant departure from Trump's existing foreign policy and might provoke a wider war in the already turbulent Middle East. Since the start of the Gaza conflict in 2023, the US has worked to prevent escalation.

President Trump has stated that he will use military force if discussions with Iran fail, yet he has publicly committed to diplomacy in the near term.

According to CNN, in March, Trump sent a letter to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, giving Tehran 60 days to strike an agreement. That deadline has passed, and it has been more than five weeks since discussions began.

Meanwhile, a senior Western diplomat told CNN that Trump indicated in a recent meeting that he would give negotiations only a few more weeks to succeed before exploring military alternatives.

Meanwhile, Israel is facing some tough decisions. According to CNN, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is under pressure to prevent a US-Iran agreement that he believes is inadequate, while not jeopardizing the country's strategic relationship with Washington.
