Effective immediately, Harvard University's Student and Exchange Visitor (SEVIS) Program certification is revoked, according to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's letter to the Ivy League institution, which has produced 162 Nobel laureates.
Noem said in my April letter that it is an honor to welcome foreign students.
You have forfeited this right as a result of your refusal to comply with several demands to supply the Department of Homeland Security with important information while fostering an unsafe campus environment that is hostile to Jewish pupils, promotes proHamas sympathies, and implements racist "diversity, equity, and inclusion" policies, she stated.
Noem's statement also indicated that the actions taken against Harvard should serve as a warning to other colleges and academic organizations across the country.
The homeland security secretary stated that Harvard may resume hosting international students if it generates a mountain of documents on foreign students within the next 72 hours.
Her updated request seeks any documents, including audio and video recordings, of foreign students participating in demonstrations or other hazardous conduct on campus.
This administration is holding Harvard responsible for cultivating violence, antisemitism, and working with the Chinese Communist Party on campus, according to Noem.
Harvard's accreditation in the Student and Exchange Visitor Program enabled the institution to sponsor foreign students in obtaining visas and attending school in the United States.
