Muscat: The Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm (SEZAD) is persistently endeavoring to augment green spaces and enlighten businesses situated in Duqm regarding the significance of afforestation, which plays a pivotal role in the enhancement of environmental development.
This objective is pursued through the organization of events dedicated to the planting of numerous trees across the region. Notably, the "Casuarina" tree planting event was conducted as a part of the festivities commemorating Oman Agriculture Day 2024.
The primary goal of the event was to augment the green cover and environmental development within the region, with the backing of OQ Gas Networks and Marafiq Central. The participation of students from Al Saad International School and employees from both governmental and private sectors in Duqm, alongside the presence of the CEO of the region, was facilitated.
The management of the region has announced that it has successfully achieved a completion rate surpassing 85 percent of its ambitious target to plant 5,000 trees during the current year. This underscores the region's dedication to fulfilling the complete objective by the year's end.
