Muscat: On Thursday, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) hosted a franchise meeting where 13 agreements for franchise sales were signed, both within the Sultanate of Oman and internationally.
The event, themed "Agreements and Development," also featured the signing of three memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with new trademarks participating in the third edition of the Franchise Initiative.
These agreements and MoUs are significant outcomes of the third iteration of the Commercial Franchise Programme, which is designed to equip business owners and Omani companies with the skills to leverage the benefits and opportunities presented by commercial franchising.
Additionally, the programme aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship by offering advanced training workshops that promote a culture of innovation to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and effectively manage franchise projects, thereby facilitating their entry into new markets.
Furthermore, it contributes to the creation of sustainable employment opportunities and the diversification of economic income sources, ultimately aiding in the expansion of economic diversification and enhancing the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the Sultanate of Oman.
The meeting was attended by Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of the OCCI Board of Directors, along with officials from relevant departments.
