Third Forum On School Administration Begins

The Third Forum on School Administration with the theme "Leadership and Sustainable Educational Visions" commenced today in Muscat.

Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, graced the opening ceremony as the patron.

Hosted by the Ministry of Education through the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision, the forum is aimed at over 1,800 school principals from both public and private schools in Oman, along with senior supervisors, directors of educational supervision departments, department heads, and school administration supervisors in educational directorates across the governorates.

The agenda featured presentations of 10 local and international experiences and models in educational technology and supervisory administration.

Furthermore, the inaugural session included a speech by Dr. Sulaiman Abdullah Al Jamoudi, Chairman of the Forum’s Main Committee, representing the Ministry of Education. Dr. Al Jamoudi emphasized the crucial role of positive and successful school administration in enhancing the efficiency of the educational process and ensuring sustainability in the school environment. He highlighted that school administration plays a key role in strengthening material, human, and technical resources to achieve educational objectives, both within and beyond the school premises, in collaboration with educational staff members.

Al Jamoudi emphasized, stating that school principals and their assistants have played a crucial role in ensuring the continuity of educational services for students during periods of study suspension caused by various climate conditions. They have achieved this by devising educational strategies and alternatives, as well as leveraging e-learning opportunities in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Their efforts have also focused on establishing pathways for distance learning, with the ultimate goal of ensuring the uninterrupted provision of educational services.

Following this, a visual presentation titled "An Entrepreneur towards Digital Transformation" and a film titled "The Imprint of a School Principal" were showcased. The event concluded with the unveiling of the logo for the School Administration Forum's third edition.

On the first day of the School Administration Forum program, a dialogue session took place, featuring two papers. The first paper explored the theme of "Future Skills and Promoting a Culture of Innovation among School Leaders," while the second paper highlighted the importance of "Strengthening the Culture of Governance in School Administrations and its Impact on School Performance."

The second session focused on school-based development, specifically discussing the TAMAM Project as a model and presenting a future vision for enhancing the performance of school administration in alignment with global development initiatives.

The third session comprised three papers. The first paper delved into the utilization of Artificial Intelligence applications to improve the educational process. The second paper explored the significance of fostering a strong connection between school leadership and society during times of crisis. Lastly, the third paper examined the roles of school leadership in effectively managing emergency situations caused by climatic events, serving as a model for others.
