Third Edition Of Research Skills Forum Launched

Muscat: In collaboration with the Arab Open University in Muscat and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, the third edition of the Research Skills Forum was inaugurated on Sunday.

This two-week event, designed for postgraduate students, is dedicated to the development and enhancement of research skills. It features a comprehensive series of training sessions and workshops that span a broad spectrum of topics pertinent to high-quality research.

Haitham Saleh Al Ya'arubi, a specialist in Building Research and Innovation within the Higher Education Ministry, highlighted that the forum is a testament to the Ministry's continuous efforts to bolster scholarly research and elevate the research competencies of postgraduate students.

He further emphasized that the event equips students with the necessary tools and knowledge to conduct research of the highest caliber, thereby contributing to the enrichment of knowledge.

Dr. Sami Khater Al Mazru’ee, the Assistant Dean of the College of Education at the Arab Open University, noted that the forum places a strong emphasis on qualitative research as opposed to quantitative research. He further explained that the event addresses a multitude of issues pertinent to the research skills required for conducting qualitative research.

Al Mazru’ee also mentioned that among the 130 researchers who recently submitted their papers, 76 were deemed to meet the stringent standards required for Master’s and doctoral degree research. He further divided these researchers into two groups, each consisting of 38 members.

The Research Skills Forum serves as a pivotal platform for students to engage with senior researchers and share ideas, thereby enriching the students' academic journey and contributing to the advancement of specialized academic research.
