The Cabinet Advises Plans For 'Replacement And Localisation' Of The National Workforce,

Muscat: Following a briefing on the Social Protection Scheme aimed at delivering social care and support, fostering social solidarity, safeguarding eligible groups, and promoting social and economic stability, His Majesty the Sultan underscored the necessity for the relevant authorities to closely monitor the Scheme's performance and its various programs, while continuously evaluating their effectiveness.

In addition, after discussing the advancements made within the National Employment Programme and the initiatives undertaken by the responsible authorities to tackle the challenges faced by the program, the Council of Ministers highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts among the departments overseeing economic sectors that create job opportunities. The Cabinet recommended that these departments formulate suitable plans and strategies for 'replacement and localization' within these sectors to expedite the employment of the national workforce, particularly for jobseekers.

Upon examining several social issues, the challenges related to the demographic structure, and their social, economic, and cultural implications, as well as demographic trends that could influence various aspects of life, His Majesty directed the Council of Ministers to undertake necessary research and develop targeted programs and policies to address these challenges effectively.
