On Thursday, Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidy, Governor of Muscat, dedicated the highest flagpole with the national flag to the country at Al Khuwair Square.
The enormous Omani national flag, measuring approximately 25 meters in length and 44 meters in width, more than previously stated, adorned the top of the 126-meter-high flagpole.
Ahmed bin Mohammed al Humaidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, and other high-ranking officials attended the function.
The Al Khuwair Square project covers an area of more than 18,000 square metres and is the outcome of a successful public-private relationship, encouraging cooperation between the Muscat Municipality and Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel.
This location will be transformed into an 18,000 square meter complex that will include a sizable area set aside for commercial activities as well as entertainment.
