Survey Conducted On Social Housing Programme Services In Oman

Muscat: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, conducted a public opinion poll on the Sultanate of Oman's social housing program services. The survey was conducted between July 2024 and 2025.

This study is part of the NCSI's mission to supply government organizations with accurate and trustworthy data required for decision-making. By performing such studies, officials can gain a better understanding of the reality of services and people's aspirations, allowing them to make more informed, evidence-based government decisions.

Mahfoudh Salim Al Musharfi, director of the NCSI's Public Opinion Measurement Department, said that the survey was conducted to assess the current state of social housing projects and gauge citizens' satisfaction with building quality, design, and contractors. It also sought to evaluate the efficiency of public infrastructure and services in social housing developments.

Furthermore, the study sought to identify obstacles that inhabitants face during the application and post-benefit periods, anticipate their future goals in terms of location and sector, connect housing with vital services, and evaluate the suitability of eligibility and distribution standards to their needs.

He stated that the study focused on three groups of citizens from many governorates of Oman: individuals who received home aid, individuals who were eligible for this assistance, and those who benefited from the housing units program. He observed that distinct questionnaires were utilized for each target group.
