Sohar: Today, the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) formalized several strategic agreements in the Wilayat of Sohar, located in the North Al Batinah Governorate, aimed at advancing the collaborative railway network initiative.
Among the agreements is a long-term commercial contract between Hafeet Rail and Emsteel, focused on the transportation and export of raw materials from Oman to the UAE.
Additionally, two significant contracts were established with Larson & Toubro (L&T) and PowerChina for the design and construction of railway infrastructure in Oman. A further agreement was made with China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC) for the provision of a fleet of freight wagons.
