State Council Discusses Draft Law On 'Combating Human Trafficking'

Muscat: In its 11th meeting of the second regular session of the 8th term held on Monday, the Legal Committee of the State Council examined the Draft Law on 'Combating Human Trafficking' as referred by the Council of Ministers.

The meeting, led by Sheikh Sultan bin Mattar Al Azizi, chairman of the Legal Committee, included the participation of committee members and several staff from the Secretariat General. The committee evaluated the report from Majlis Al Shura regarding the draft law, which aligns with the Sultanate’s commitment to promoting human rights and enhancing justice across all sectors of Omani society.

The proposed legislation on Combating Human Trafficking is designed to align with the latest advancements in the field and to incorporate regional and international best practices in the fight against such offenses.
