Barka: Since its inception in June 2024, the Central Market for Vegetables and Fruits (Silal) located in the Wilayat of Barka, within the South Al Batinah Governorate, has successfully received over 1,100 cooling units.

This market has provided a platform for the accommodation of goods exceeding 26,000 tonnes, sourced from various nations as well as local and neighboring markets.

Silal Market is actively pursuing the development of wholesale trade through the utilization of a comprehensive range of equipment and services designed to cater to the needs of traders, importers, and exporters, as articulated by Othman Ali Al Hattali, the Director of Operations at Silal Market.

In a recent press release, Al Hattali highlighted the current capacity of the Silal Market, which is capable of handling more than 25,000 tons of vegetables and fruits. He emphasized that the infrastructure of the market has been meticulously designed to maintain the quality of these perishable goods, thereby reducing loss by implementing proper storage methods.

Furthermore, Al Hattali showcased the impressive facilities of the market, including an air-conditioned wholesale hall spanning 30,000 square meters, in addition to 90 refrigerated warehouses, each with an area of 126 square meters.

Al Hattali mentioned that all the refrigerated units in the market have been in place, underscoring the market's importance to traders and the general public.
