Muscat: A session on Cybersecurity Risks and Digital Resilience Strategies addressed the most serious issues that institutions confront as cyberattacks increase, methods to improve their capacity to respond to these threats, and ensuring continuity in a secure digital environment, including the significance of cybersecurity insurance.
The workshop, which was organized by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in cooperation with Howden Insurance Brokers, aimed to raise awareness about the hazards of cyberattacks and their influence on the business environment, as well as the importance of insurance. It also attempted to educate participants with global best practices for institutional data protection, foster a digital security culture in the company community, and build communication channels with specialists and technicians to share cybersecurity solutions and advice.
The inauguration event was presided over by Eng. Ibrahim Abdullah Al Hosni, a member of the OCCI Board of Directors and Chairman of the Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence Committee.
The session included multiple visual presentations on the current advancements in the cybersecurity threat environment, as well as two real-world case studies from the financial and industrial industries. It also discussed the legal ramifications of personal data protection legislation. Additionally, the symposium had a panel discussion on the most urgent cybersecurity issues confronting a variety of sectors.
The event drew a large crowd of cybersecurity experts and company leaders.
