Muscat: The second edition of the "International Dates and Honey Exhibition" commenced on Sunday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
This exhibition is designed to showcase the newest offerings in the domains of dates and honey, broaden commercial opportunities, and inform participating nations and exhibitors regarding the quality of dates and honey products available within the Sultanate of Oman.
Over 35 nations have participated in this week-long event, scheduled to conclude on 26 October. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources.
The duration of the exhibition is marked by the participation of 167 local enterprises and 71 international corporations engaged in the production of honey and dates, as well as packaging and food processing companies focused on dates and honey products.
The exhibition features the latest technological advancements applied in the production of dates and honey products, a system for evaluating the quality of products provided by commercial entities, and investment opportunities within this sector.
Furthermore, the exhibition seeks to foster communication among GCC states and other Arab nations, enhance international relations, develop production processes, benefit from global expertise, and increase public awareness regarding the importance of these products to the local economy.
