SalamAir Achieves Record Growth During Khareef 2025

Muscat: SalamAir, the low-cost airline of Oman, has reported outstanding results for the Khareef 2025 season in Salalah, marking a successful summer that underscores the increasing strength of domestic tourism, the airline’s expanding role in connectivity, and its contribution to Oman’s broader economic diversification objectives.

From 30 June to 31 August 2025, SalamAir conducted 962 flights between Muscat, Sohar, and Salalah, a significant rise from 658 flights in 2024, representing a 46% year-on-year increase. The seat capacity also grew by 37%, reaching 192,540 seats in 2025.

Nearly 70% of the passengers were Omani citizens, emphasizing Salalah's status as a favored national destination during Khareef. To accommodate this increase, SalamAir launched a special OMR48 round-trip fare exclusively for Omanis, making travel more affordable and accessible for families and individuals eager to explore Dhofar’s unique beauty during the season.

Adrian Hamilton-Manns, the Chief Executive Officer of SalamAir, stated: “Khareef 2025 has been an extraordinary success for SalamAir and for the Sultanate. These results demonstrate the airline’s dedication to providing affordable connectivity in Oman while fostering the growth of Salalah as one of the region’s most renowned destinations. We take pride in our role in attracting more visitors to Dhofar to experience its natural wonders, traditions, and hospitality. The accomplishments of this season not only highlight SalamAir’s growth but also the remarkable allure of Salalah during Khareef.

The accomplishments of Khareef 2025 also highlight the unexploited potential of Oman’s domestic travel sector. SalamAir is enhancing its position as a prominent low-cost airline in the area, attracting visitors to the Sultanate, bolstering local tourism, and creating new opportunities for Omanis. Looking forward, the airline is dedicated to further growth and the long-term development of Salalah as an operational hub, ensuring that Dhofar enjoys year-round connectivity and sustainable progress.

With this successful expansion, SalamAir marks the conclusion of another remarkable Khareef season, reinforcing its status as a cornerstone of Oman’s aviation and tourism industries. These outcomes are in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, promoting tourism, empowering domestic travel, and solidifying the Sultanate’s role as a connected and flourishing center for the region.
