Royal Oman Police Affirms Its Readiness For Khareef Dhofar 2024

In preparation for the upcoming Khareef Dhofar season 2024, the Dhofar Governorate Police Command is implementing various security measures for tourism events and activities in the region, with the support of different Royal Oman Police units.

Brigadier Saeed bin Hamad Al Balushi, the Commander of the Dhofar Governorate Police, emphasized the commitment of the General Police Command to assist the Dhofar Governorate Police Command in increasing police presence at all tourist sites in the region and improving the quality of services offered.

Al Balushi mentioned that the Royal Oman Police committees have conducted meetings and site visits to identify the security and traffic requirements for tourist sites during the Khareef season.

The Brigadier General, as the Commander of Dhofar Governorate Police, highlighted the special measures taken to manage the expected rise in tourist numbers during this season, in collaboration with relevant authorities to ensure visitor safety and smooth traffic flow to tourist attractions and event venues.

Al Balushi also highlighted the ongoing coordination with other government agencies to safeguard the well-being of citizens and visitors at tourist sites. This includes ensuring safety standards for barriers at high-risk locations, advising operators on the safety of amusement rides, and establishing warning regulations.

The Police Commander of Dhofar Governorate urged drivers to comply with traffic laws and safety standards by checking their vehicles, conducting essential maintenance, obeying speed limits, refraining from overtaking in restricted areas, maintaining a safe following distance, and avoiding distractions such as using a mobile phone while behind the wheel.
