Hanoi: According to an official announcement, at least nine individuals, including children, were killed and 16 others were injured when a passenger vehicle crashed in central Vietnam early Friday, Al Arabiya reported.
The bus was travelling from Hanoi to Danang when the tragedy occurred at around 1:45 a. m. local time in Ha Tinh province. According to authorities, the car swerved off the road, smashed numerous traffic signboards, and flipped.
Those who died in the collision ranged in age from 4 to 49. All of the injured passengers were sent to neighboring hospitals for treatment. According to the government's statement, several people suffered multiple injuries.
Road accidents are common in Vietnam. According to official statistics from the National Statistics Office, 5,024 individuals died in road accidents in the first six months of this year. According to Al Arabiya, the total is somewhat fewer than the 5,343 fatalities reported during the same time in 2024.
