Muscat: In collaboration with the Anaesthesia Department and the Obesity Treatment Unit at the National Diabetes Centre, a specialized medical team from the Royal Hospital has successfully conducted the first laparoscopic gastric sleeve procedure without traditional surgery. 

This procedure, referred to as "gastric folding" or "gastric plication," is designed to assist obese patients in achieving weight loss safely and effectively.
