Royal Academy Of Management Concludes Second Cohort Of Walis Programme

The Royal Academy of Management (RAM) in Muscat celebrated the completion of the second group of participants in the Walis Programme today. This initiative is part of the National Initiative for the Development of Local Governance, a collaborative effort between RAM and the Ministry of Interior.

The primary goal of the Walis Programme is to empower local leaders in various governorates to actively promote well-rounded and inclusive local development. This initiative is in line with Oman's strategic direction towards decentralization and the enhancement of governorates.

Comprising five educational modules, the programme is carefully crafted to cover essential aspects of governance and leadership enhancement. By utilizing modern executive learning techniques, the programme combines field trips, interactive lectures, workshops, and practical exercises to complement the theoretical knowledge.

Moreover, the programme encourages interaction through discussions with experts and leaders who bring valuable insights in strategy, planning, and executive leadership. Embracing a comprehensive approach, the programme also includes a thorough examination of national and international models that have significantly impacted local development and economic diversification, aiming for a substantial transformation.

RAM initiated the Walis Programme with a total of 63 participants across two cohorts. The programme's objective is to reinforce the skills of local leaders in governorates, thereby contributing to the achievement of comprehensive and balanced local development. It is in harmony with Oman's current and future aspirations towards administrative decentralization and governorate development.
