Muscat: Today, the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences has kicked off a training initiative, organized by the Royal Oman Police, aimed at preparing citizens for roles in managing operations at land border crossings.
This initiative, in collaboration with the private sector, aims to educate participants on the relevant laws, regulations, and security protocols, as well as equip them with the necessary skills to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
The event took place with the support of Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, the Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, amidst the presence of Lt. Gen Hassan Mohsin Al Shuraiqi, the Inspector-General of Police and Customs.
The initiative involves delegating handling responsibilities at land border crossings to private sector entities, which will be linked through the Bayan system.
This program is designed to enhance customs clearance processes with the latest technology and equipment, streamline operations, introduce innovative standards, and improve the overall performance of institutions.
