ROHM Brings Together Talented Young Artists

Muscat: In February 2025, the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) continued its Emerging Talents initiative, dedicated to nurturing young musicians and offering them enriching educational experiences.

A standout feature of the program was the participation of the acclaimed baritone Thomas Hampson, who conducted a series of masterclasses for aspiring musicians in Muscat.

These sessions provided comprehensive insights into vocal techniques, performance methodologies, and avenues for artistic development. Among the eight participants, two were Omani opera singers.

Hampson also held a special concert at the ROHM Opera Galleria, granting both the public and the participating musicians a unique chance to experience his artistry in a more personal environment.

A particularly memorable moment during the concert was the performance of two young Omani singers, which represented a significant event for the local music community.

Their involvement in the concert was a meaningful achievement, allowing them to showcase their vocal abilities alongside a renowned artist.

The audience warmly embraced the inclusion of these singers, highlighting the community's pride in its emerging talents.

Hampson was accompanied by the Muscat Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Opera Choir Group, under the direction of Lubnan Baalbaki. The performance was a remarkable exhibition of musical prowess, merging Hampson's world-class experience with the developing talents of Omani musicians.
