RAO Celebrates Graduation Of Officers

Muscat: The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) held a ceremony today to celebrate the graduation of various courses, including the cadet officers’ course, specialized university officers’ course, transformative course, and paramedic course from Sultan Qaboos Military College, the academy of the Royal Army of Oman.

The event took place at the military parade ground in Al Murtafaa Garrison, under the esteemed patronage of Gen. Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office.

The ceremony commenced with the graduates rendering a military salute to the chief guest. Following this, the RAO band performed the Royal Anthem. The commander of the column then sought Gen. Al Nu’amani's permission to inspect the front row of the parade. The graduates showcased a military display, executing both slow and normal marches as they passed in front of the celebration dais, led by the banner of Sultan Qaboos Military College. The column then advanced in parade formation.

Subsequently, Gen. Al Nu’amani presented the Sword of Honour to Aiman Khalid Al Mazahmi, a cadet officer from the RAO, who achieved first place among the graduating cadet officers.

The ceremony continued with the transfer of the Sultan Qaboos Military College banner, as the graduating class handed it over to the current trainees, who pledged to uphold the flag's honor. The Flag Anthem was then played, and the flag bearers paraded among their peers.

The graduates proudly chanted the RAO anthem and took the Oath of Loyalty, affirming their allegiance while chanting thrice, “Long Live His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.”

The graduating officers' column executed a military salute. Following this, the band performed the Royal Anthem, after which the commander of the column sought the chief guest's permission to conclude the ceremony.

As the column moved past the dais, they rendered a military salute to General Al Nu’amani.

Subsequently, the RAO Music band showcased a variety of musical performances and a military musical display, featuring different detachments that demonstrated their skills. This exhibition highlighted their high morale and proficiency in utilizing the latest equipment and musical instruments provided to the band.

The event was graced by the presence of ministers, undersecretaries, the Chairman of the State Council, the Chairman of the Shura Council, commanders of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF), along with other military and security personnel, retired commanders, senior SAF officers, retired senior officers from various military and security units, military attachés from Arab and allied embassies in Oman, RAO staff, and the families of the officer cadets.
