Oman Marks World Heritage Day, Celebrates Its Cultural Identity

Muscat: On Sunday, the Sultanate of Oman commemorated World Heritage Day with the theme "Heritage Resilience in the Face of Disasters and Conflicts."

This event aims to enhance public understanding of the significance of cultural heritage and the importance of safeguarding it from threats posed by both natural events and human actions.

Eng. Ibrahim Said Al Kharousi, Undersecretary for Heritage at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, emphasized that the celebration is intended to showcase the efforts of relevant authorities in preserving the national heritage for future generations.

The program featured an operetta performed by students from the University of Nizwa, traditional Omani folklore performances, theatrical presentations by students from schools in Muscat and A’Dakhiliyah Governorate, as well as an art exhibition.
