RAO Band Wins Trophy Of Infantry, Military Discipline Competition In Scotland

Edinburgh: The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) Music Band has emerged victorious, securing the first position in the prestigious World Infantry and Military Discipline Competition, which was held in Scotland, United Kingdom.

Furthermore, the RAO band achieved fifth place in the Dumbarton contest, showcasing their exceptional musical prowess in playing instruments. This competition attracted a global audience, with 128 teams from various nations participating.

Col. Ahmed Salim Al Shukairi, the esteemed Director of the RAO Music Band, expressed his pride in Oman's dominance in the World Bagpipes and Drums Competition in Scotland, clinching the first position in the Infantry and Military Discipline category and securing the fifth position in the musical instruments contest. He emphasized that these achievements serve as a strong motivation for the RAO band as they prepare for future competitions, including the World Music Competition in Glasgow.

"It has been a day of great success," declared Douglas MacAllister, the Mayor of Glasgow. "This marks the 25th anniversary of the World Music Competition in Scotland, and we are honored to once again be the host of this esteemed event. The participation of bands from around the globe, including the Royal Army of Oman, in the competition, is a testament to the high caliber of musicians we have witnessed today," he added.

The RAO band's exceptional skills and outstanding performance have been highly commendable, leaving a lasting impression on the audience and the competition organizers alike.
