RAM Launches National CEO Programme For Omani Private Sector Executives

Muscat: The Royal Academy of Management (RAM) has today inaugurated the National CEO Programme (NCP).

This initiative is dedicated to the cultivation of national leaders, marking a significant commitment by the Academy to the development of outstanding leaders within the private sector. It is designed to equip these leaders with the critical skills essential for achieving the objectives outlined in Oman Vision 2040.

The National CEO Programme is structured to nurture a vibrant community of leaders who are prepared to navigate the complexities inherent in a swiftly evolving international environment. This, in turn, will significantly contribute to the realization of Oman’s five-year economic blueprint.

The programme will enroll 35 executive leaders on a rigorous eight-month learning journey. This journey will encompass a variety of learning modules, both in-person and virtual, as well as experiential learning opportunities and international site visits. Additionally, it will feature mentoring sessions aimed at deepening participants’ understanding of leadership principles and assisting them in adopting innovative methodologies by immersing them in a novel environment that mirrors the role of a CEO. This approach is designed to foster the development of cohesive teams and organizations that are capable of competing and adapting to future challenges.

Abdulaziz Said Al-Risi, the Assistant to the President for Studies and Development, underscored that the latest edition of the programme is committed to elevating Omani CEOs to a global standard. It is focused on achieving strategic objectives at the individual, institutional, and national levels, while also promoting innovative and creative leadership within the executive sectors. This initiative is aimed at enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of Oman’s private sector by accelerating performance and growth across various industries through the enhancement of participants’ leadership capabilities. These skills are intended to empower them to inspire the next generation of leaders within Oman’s private sector.

Abdulaziz further highlighted that the programme offers an intensive learning experience designed to provide participants with the necessary tools to address contemporary leadership challenges. These challenges include change management, strategic leadership, innovation, digital transformation, team building, and stakeholder management.

The programme's inaugural module will concentrate on establishing a leadership community among participants, thereby enhancing learning and reflection on contemporary leadership concepts. The second module, scheduled to take place in the United Kingdom, will focus on leadership development and introduce participants to new methodologies.

Participants will have the opportunity to leverage their strengths in developing strategies, leading teams, and driving transformation.

The third module, titled “Leading a 21st Century Organisation,” will address the essential skills required for contemporary leadership, including financial management, digital marketing, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision-making.

The fourth module will feature field visits to explore challenges faced by various sectors of the business world, learning from successful individuals and institutions within Oman’s private sector.

The programme will conclude with the “Leadership Community” event, which will serve as a platform to showcase the learning experiences of participants and reinforce their connections within the leadership community.

The National Competency Programme (NCP Programme) stands as one of the principal endeavors undertaken by the Royal Academy of Management, facilitated through its esteemed Centre for Leadership Development. This esteemed institution provides an array of leadership development programs, meticulously crafted to cater to the varied requirements of senior officials across both the public and private domains. These programs extend their reach to encompass initiatives aimed at empowering Omani youth, women, and entrepreneurs. Furthermore, the Centre assumes a critical role in the cultivation of future leaders for the public sector, thereby fortifying the leadership community to address both present and forthcoming challenges. It engages in close collaboration with national stakeholders and international partners, ensuring the development of a contemporary, resilient public sector ecosystem, capable of fostering success and sustainability within Oman.
