Rainfall Expected Over Parts Of Oman Today

Muscat: Today, there will be isolated rain and occasional thundershowers and downdrafts in the afternoon and evening over the Al Hajar mountains and Dhofar Governorate.

Yesterday, several governorates in the Sultanate experienced scattered rainfall. The highest recorded rainfall was in Rakhyut with 59 mm, followed by Mirbat with 28 mm, Bidiya with 19 mm, Ibra with 15 mm. Al-Dama and Al-Ta'in received 9 mm, Al-Qabil received 8 mm, Sumail received 2 mm, and Dhalkut received 1 mm. This information was provided by the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries, and Water Resources.

According to the General Directorate of Meteorology, most of the governorates will have clear skies today. However, there is a possibility of advection clouds and isolated rain along the coasts of Dhofar governorate.

The statement from the General Directorate of Meteorology also mentioned that there is a chance of low-level cloud or fog patches in South Al-Sharqiya, Al-Wusta, Dhofar, parts of the Oman Sea Coasts, and the Musandam Coasts. Additionally, dust may rise over deserts and open areas. It is important to note that during rainfall, dust raising, fog formation, and downdraft, there may be low horizontal visibility. Therefore, it is advised to take necessary precautions.
