Quad Committed To Improve People's Lives Across Indo-pacific: Antony Blinken

Tokyo: Antony Blinken, the United States Secretary of State, has affirmed the commitment of the Quad to enhancing the well-being of individuals across the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.

He underscored the strategic priorities of the security alliance, which include augmenting maritime domain awareness and thwarting cyber-attacks.

"The Quad is dedicated to elevating the quality of life for people throughout the Indo-Pacific region and further afield. Our focus areas encompass increasing maritime domain awareness and aiding the region in preventing cyber-attacks. We are investing in the prosperity of the region," Blinken articulated in a statement on X.

The Quad is distinguished as a diplomatic partnership among Australia, India, Japan, and the United States, united in their endeavor to support an open, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region that is both inclusive and resilient.

During the Quad's foreign ministers' meeting, which took place on July 29 in Tokyo, Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister of India, in conjunction with Foreign Ministers Yoko Kamikawa of Japan and Penny Wong of Australia, along with Antony Blinken, the United States Secretary of State, participated in discussions.

Blinken, in collaboration with the United States Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, engaged in a dialogue with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, focusing on the security cooperation between the two nations.

"Japanese Prime Minister Kishida, @SecDefAustin, and I deliberated on the progress achieved in our defense commitments through our Security 2+2 consultations. The success of these ongoing endeavors underscores the robustness of the U.S.-Japan Alliance," Blinken elaborated in a subsequent post.

On the same day, Blinken had a meeting with External Affairs Minister Jaishankar prior to the Quad Foreign Ministers' gathering.

The discussion centered on India-US collaboration, with a reaffirmation of their mutual commitment to regional peace, security, and prosperity.
