Muscat: President Aleksandr Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus, along with his delegation, visited the National Museum today as part of his official trip to the Sultanate of Oman.
During the visit, the President and his delegation explored the museum, which showcases Oman’s rich cultural heritage from its earliest human settlements to contemporary times.
At the beginning of the tour, Jamal Hassan Al Moosawi, Secretary General of the National Museum, delivered a presentation outlining the cultural collaboration between the museum and Belarus.
Following this, the President visited various galleries that depict significant elements of Oman's history and civilization. Noteworthy among these were the Land and the People Gallery, the Prehistory and Ancient History Gallery, the Splendours of Islam Gallery, the Oman and the World Gallery, and the Renaissance Gallery.
President Lukashenko also toured the Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s Corner, where he viewed the original Letter No. 1 (Letter of Will) addressed by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said to the Royal Family Council via the Defense Council.
At the end of his visit, the President signed the museum’s senior visitors’ register, emphasizing the importance of such visits in fostering cultural ties between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus.
Accompanying the President during his visit to the National Museum were Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority (Head of the Mission of Honour), along with several members of the Mission of Honour.
