The initial report from the Manila Bureau of Fire Protection indicates that the conflagration began at 7:20 a.m. local time, originating from a liquified petroleum gas (LPG) leak at a canteen situated on the fourth floor of a structure along Carvajal Street, as detailed by the Daily Tribune.
The fire was successfully extinguished at 10:04 a.m. local time. Kagawad Nelson Ty of Barangay 289 confirmed that 11 victims were trapped within the building.
