People In Oman Watch Lunar Eclipse In Awe

Muscat: A large crowd gathered outside their homes and on rooftops to observe the total Lunar Eclipse on Sunday.

The penumbral eclipse commenced at 7:28 pm Muscat time, followed by the partial eclipse at 8:27 pm, culminating in the moment when the moon completely entered Earth's shadow at 9:31 pm.

During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon takes on a deep crimson hue for nearly an hour, which is why it is also referred to as the Red Blood Moon.

Unlike solar eclipses, which should not be viewed with the naked eye, a lunar eclipse can be safely observed without any special equipment.

To enhance this special occasion, astronomers have arranged telescopes and large screens for those interested in astronomy to enjoy the event.
